Nací en noviembre de 1978 y viví mis primeros cuatro años en Cusco. Me pusieron Valeria por el huayno Valicha. Desde niña me encantaba que me cuenten historias y crear las mías también. Me di cuenta de que las historias acercaban a las personas y quise ser actriz y directora para poder contarlas desde un escenario. Estudié Artes Escénicas en la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú y en el 2002 llegué a la Escuela Bolaroja dirigida por Wendy Ramos y me formé como clown escénico y clown hospitalario. Luego de mi formación en Bolaroja llevé talleres de clown con Caroline Dream (Inglaterra), Alex Navarro (España), Sue Morrison (Canadá), entre otros maestros. 

 

Desde ese momento jugar y ayudar a que otras personas jueguen con libertad se convirtió en algo esencial en mi vida. Como jugando, en agosto del 2005 me fui a Londres a estudiar dos maestrías: una en psicoanálisis en la Tavistock Centre y una en teatro en The Central School of Speech and Drama. En esa ciudad formé una compañía multidisciplinaria de teatro con artistas de Luxemburgo, Australia e Inglaterra llamada In Transit Theatre. Con nuestra primera obra The Misadventures of Me nos presentamos en espacios teatrales así como en la estación de tren de King's Cross and St. Pancras. Después de 7 años regresé a Lima y entre el 2015 y el 2019 fui una de las co-fundadoras de Hermanas Lamancha, un colectivo teatral con el que produjimos tres obras de teatro y organizamos más de treinta talleres de actuación, clown y dirección de actores con profesores nacionales e internacionales.

 

Desde el 2013 ayudo a personas a tomar consciencia del impacto de sus experiencias en su estilo de comunicación y desde ese lugar las acompaño para que puedan ganar confianza en su propio estilo de comunicarse tanto con ellas mismas como en su entorno personal y profesional.

I was born in November 1978 and lived my first four years in Cusco. They named me Valeria after the huayno Valicha. Since I was a child I loved being told stories and creating my own too. I realised that stories brought people closer and I wanted to be an actress and director to be able to tell them from stage. I studied Performing Arts at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and in 2002 I joined the Bolaroja Clown School, directed by Wendy Ramos, and trained as a stage and hospital Clown. After my training in Bolaroja, I took clown workshops with Caroline Dream (England), Alex Navarro (Spain), Sue Morrison (Canada), among other teachers.
 
From that moment on, playing and helping other people play freely became essential in my life. In August 2005 I packed my things and went to London to study two master's degrees: one in psychoanalysis at the Tavistock Center and one in theatre at The Central School of Speech and Drama. In that city I co-founded a multidisciplinary theatre company with artists from Luxembourg, Australia and England called In Transit Theatre. With our first play The Misadventures of Me we performed in theatres as well as at King's Cross and St. Pancras railway station. After 7 years I returned to Lima and between 2015 and 2019 I was one of the co-founders of Hermanas Lamancha, a theatrical collective that produced three plays and organized more than thirty acting and clown workshops with national and international teachers.
